We are seeking a brilliant maternity cover for 6–9 months for the Communications and Marketing Director role with proven experience in hospitality, to join our team in Soho, London.

The Communications and Marketing Director Maternity Cover role
The Communications and Marketing Director leads and executes strategic communication efforts for our growing restaurant group and external clients, shaping the brand narrative, enhancing public relations, and managing internal and external messaging. This role is crucial for driving brand visibility, fostering relationships with media, influencers, and audiences, and aligning communication strategies with the organization’s objectives. The Communications and Marketing Director ensures consistent, authentic, and engaging messaging across all platforms, including the restaurant group’s and brand websites and SEO optimisation, with a special focus on PR, social media, influencer marketing, and event promotion.
This role is covering for our Comms and Marketing Director’s Maternity Leave, executing the strategies she hands over, and developing new ones where needed.
Key requirements
- Have at least 5 years’ experience as a Communications and Marketing Director within PR, marketing, and communications, ideally at a hospitality group or agency
- Develop and deliver communications strategies across PR, social media, influencer campaigns, website content, and SEO
- Have strong relationships with senior/ editor-level and high profile media, journalists, bloggers, and influencers
- Oversee website management, content creation, SEO optimization, and digital agency collaboration
- Plan and manage social media strategy, content calendars, and campaign performance tracking
- Lead influencer partnerships, social media campaigns, and measure ROI
- Create engaging content for social media, press releases, blogs, and event promotion
- Coordinate and execute events, press dinners, and influencer activations
- Manage external client accounts, ensuring high-quality service and accurate billing
- Develop local marketing strategies, partnerships, and co-branded promotions
- Identify and submit for relevant industry awards, and represent the group at events
- Lead and mentor a communications team, providing ongoing training in PR, digital marketing, and content creation
- Collaborate with operations and events teams to align communications with business goals
- Monitor, analyse, and report on website traffic, media coverage, social media engagement, and campaign performance
- Exhibit excellent written and verbal communication skills, including exceptional copywriting
- Apply hands-on experience with SEO, website management, and social media strategy
- Provide leadership and positively manage a team
- Be creative, strategic and proactive, and drive brand visibility across multiple channels
